Airport Terminals

NAIA has 4 terminals in an area of 4.8 kilometers. All the terminals have ATMs, free WiFi and money chargers in their departure and arrival levels.

Terminal 1:

The Terminal 1 was constructed in the year 1981 to handle the increasing number of international passengers to Philippines in the 1970s. The terminal manages only international flights. So, if you have a connecting domestic flight, you will have to transfer to the other terminal which is not a hassle at all. The terminals are connected by free shuttle buses that operate throughout the day at an internal of 15 minutes. However, a passenger requires clearing the immigration process before using this service. People flying from the USA, India or any other foreign country in an economy or business class flight are most likely to land at this terminal.

There are two levels of the terminal – Arrivals level and Departures level

Arrivals level: On the arrivals floor, there is the arrival hall and different other services like customs & immigration, baggage, a transfer point, rental car counters, transport lounge, information desk, prayer rooms, medical facilities, parking area, lost & found counter, etc.

Departures level: There is a VIP lounge, Day Room, shops and a few restaurants at the Departure level.

Terminal 2:

Terminal 2 serves for both domestic and international flights. It is also called Centennial Terminal in commemoration of the centennial year of the independence of Philippines. The terminal building consists of 6 levels, all of them connected to the central level Rotunda. The southern side of the terminal attends domestic flights while the Northern side to the international flights.

Each of the wings has two levels – Ground level and Second level. The Second level is for departures and the Ground level for arrivals. There are almost 12 aerobridges that connect the airplanes to the terminal.

Terminal 3:

Terminal 3 is the largest and newest terminal in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. From the year 2017, the terminal is connected to the Newport City with a footbridge of length 220 meters. It hosts international flights by major airlines flying to Philippines. There are 140 check-in counters and 24 gates at the terminal that has a capacity to manage 13M passengers in a year. International passengers who book last minute flights to Manila in flights operated by Cathay pacific, Philippine Airlines, Etihad Airways, etc. land at this terminal.

Terminal 3 has four levels – Ground floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor and 4th floor. The ground floor is for the arrivals, 2nd floor for departures, 3rd floor connects to the boarding gates and 4th floor connects to boarding gates 131 to 134 & 118 to 120 and has shops, restaurants and other food counters.

Terminal 4:

The fourth terminal is otherwise called Old Domestic Terminal or Manila Domestic Passenger Terminal. There are 26 check-in counters and the terminal hosts regional and domestic flights by non-international airlines like Cebgo. Right beside the Terminal 4, there are taxi services, restaurants, shops and medical facilities.

Terminal 4 has different sections divided on a single level – Arrivals and luggage claim area, check-in desks and Waiting area.
