Yoga has traveled far and wide across the globe from its origin in the Himalayas, India. It has become a divine art for health and wellness. The world celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21 to spread awareness about Yoga. New York observed the day at Times Square. Many countries joined the celebration.

Now the momentum has reached to such a level that a glass-bottomed suspension bridge became a new Yoga destination in China. An enthusiastic group of 100 girls practiced yoga on the glass-bottomed bridge at a height of 590 feet in Shiniuzhai National Geological Park in Hunan Province of China yesterday. Clad in identical clothes, they performed a few yoga asanas to promote green life and harmony between nature and humans.

The 70th anniversary of the United Nations was celebrated this October 24 across the world. More than 200 iconic landmarks across 60 countries were illuminated with lights of blue color, the official color of the United Nations, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the UN Day. Though the UN Charter was enforced in 1945, it was officially recognized as the founding document in 1948 by the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.

The spark of the United Nations Day celebration on the occasion of its 70th anniversary spread from the US to Italy to France to Jordan to India to Singapore to Sri Lanka to Malaysia to Indonesia to Australia to Japan. The iconic landmarks of the world, including the Empire State Building in New York, the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, the Humayun’s Tomb in New Delhi, the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the Opera House of Sydney in Australia, the Twin Towers of Kuala Lumpur, the Petra of Jordan, etc. were lit up in blue to signify the strength of unity and enhance the beauty of the United Nations Day celebration.
