It will be fully effective from March 25, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The United States was the first to undertake this security measure for inbound flights. The United Kingdom joined the bandwagon after a few hours of the announcement by the US government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogbox.ieagle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/ban-on-electronic-devices-from-cabin-baggage-on-flights-to-USA-and-UK.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-871 size-full\" title=\"USA and UK Ban Electronic Devices from Cabin Baggage on Flights from Certain Countries\" src=\"http:\/\/blogbox.ieagle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/ban-on-electronic-devices-from-cabin-baggage-on-flights-to-USA-and-UK.jpg\" alt=\"air travel news, US ban on electronic devices, UK ban of electronic devices, Middle East airlines \" width=\"744\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The US ban on electronic devices other than smartphones from cabin or carry-on baggage on inbound flights from <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ieagle.com\/cheap-flights-to-united-arab-emirates-ae\/cheap-flights-to-abu-dhabi-auh\/\" target=\"_blank\">Abu Dhabi<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ieagle.com\/cheap-flights-to-united-arab-emirates-ae\/cheap-flights-to-dubai-dxb\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dubai<\/a><\/span>, Doha, Istanbul, Amman, Cairo, Kuwait City, Casablanca, Riyadh and Jeddah applies to the airlines<\/strong>: <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ieagle.com\/flights\/airline\/etihad-airways-ey-deals\/\" target=\"_blank\">Etihad Airways<\/a><\/span>, Emirates Airlines, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Royal Jordanian, Kuwait Airways, Royal Air Maroc, and EgyptAir.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Notably, US airlines and outbound flights from US airports operated by the above-mentioned airlines are exempted from the ban on electronic devices like laptops, tablets, cameras and gaming devices as carry-on items in the cabin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While there are as many as 10 cities and 9 airlines on the US ban list, <strong>the British ban on the same electronic devices applies to 14 <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ieagle.com\/flights\/airlines\/\" target=\"_blank\">airlines<\/a><\/span> operating flights to the UK from and via Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.<\/strong> Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi in the Middle East are excluded from the UK ban list. These 14 airlines include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">British Airways<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thomas Cook Airlines<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thomson Airways<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pegasus Airways<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Turkish Airlines<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Atlas-Global Airlines<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Saudi Arabian Airlines<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Royal Jordanian<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tunis Air<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Monarch<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">EgyptAir<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">EasyJet<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jet2.com<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Middle East Airlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The ban on electronic devices excluding smartphones from cabin baggage will mostly affect business travelers on international flights to USA and the UK.<\/strong> It has elicited a mixed response from air travelers who are required to check in their valuable electronic gadgets as part of checked baggage in compliance with the restriction.
