It will be gradually rolled out at all international airports of China over the span of a year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogbox.ieagle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/China-Starts-Fingerprinting-Foreign-Tourists-at-All-International-Airports-for-Security-Reasons.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-856 size-full\" title=\"China Starts Fingerprinting Foreign Tourists at All International Airports for Security Reasons\" src=\"http:\/\/blogbox.ieagle.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/China-Starts-Fingerprinting-Foreign-Tourists-at-All-International-Airports-for-Security-Reasons.jpg\" alt=\"China news, China airports, fingerprinting at China airports, travel to China\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A directive from the Ministry of Public Security has mandated fingerprinting of foreign visitors in China. It also states that all foreign nationals will be screened through fingerprinting technology upon arrival in China. <strong>If any other biometric data would be collected from foreign passport holders, is not yet clarified by the government of China.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>More than 76 million foreign nationals, mostly from the United States, South Korea, Japan and Russia, visited <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"http:\/\/blogbox.ieagle.com\/high-speed-badaling-railway-station-under-the-great-wall-of-china\/\" target=\"_blank\">China<\/a><\/span> in 2016<\/strong>, according to the official estimates from the Ministry of Public Security. And, this figure is expected to go up by the end of 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Fingerprinting of foreign visitors in China is not a new security practice in Asia and beyond. <strong>It has become a common approach towards ensuring fool-proof security at international borders across the world<\/strong>.
